Color and complexity have never been a problem at Momtazi Vineyard and the 2006 vintage was no exception. The medium aubergine color of the 2006 Jamsheed Pinot noir makes a statement before one even picks up the glass. On first approach, it yields dark aromas of plums, black currents, Rainer cherries and spicy currants. Balanced acidity coupled with fine-grained, soft tannins keep the fruit lingering in ones mouth couples with a long soothing finish. This is a wine that’s ready now and will only continue to improve.
Wine Spectator
Light and tangy, a crisp, juicy mouthful of raspberry, cherry and hints of beet and floral notes as the finish sails on and on against refined tannins. Needs time to flesh out. Best from 2009 through 2015. 4,080 cases made.

Wine Enthusiast
Maysara embraced biodynamic viticulture well before it became fashionable, but it is rare to find a Pinot Noir from anywhere that is biodynamically farmed and loaded with such diverse and complex flavors, at such a budget price. The sweet red fruits run through the gamut of berries, spices and light herb. Tannins are tight and tamed, giving the finish a firm foundation with just the right hints of earth and rock.

Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.
