Earthquake Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
This vintage from Michael David Winery is an intense wine with a brilliant deep purple color. It shatters from the center of your glass all the way out to the rim. Buy Earthquake Cabernet Sauvignon online from Vine Republic if you are looking for a wine that is well-structured, full bodied and capable of leaving your senses shaking after every sip.
Always rated well by Wine Advocate, Earthquake is distilled from a vineyard in Lodi that was planted around the same time as the historic San Francisco Earthquake of 1906. This cab is juicy with fruity notes coming front and center before giving the palate plenty of structure. Black cherry compote is both the featured aroma and flavor on the palate, but there are hints of blackcurrant. This combination gives Earthquake Cabernet Sauvignon a taste that is still 100% cabernet: infused with just the right amount of anise, cocoa and tobacco leaf to give it character. The French oak casks it is aged in shine through in the charcoal and smoky notes that mix on the finish.
Much the same as every wine on the list at the Michael David Winery, Earthquake Cabernet Sauvignon finishes smooth thanks to mild tannins and a high-note finish. This wine is priced well enough that you should have no issues pairing it with a flavorful meat or pasta. You also can add it to your cellar for the next five years.
