Bergström Shea Vineyard Pinot Noir 2014
Wine EnthusiastBergström has made a Shea designate since 2003, intent on showcasing a "pretty" style of the vineyard. Here are lovely aromatics, with grape jelly, rose petals and plum in the nose, and a complex run of red fruits in the mouth. Streaks of cola, brown sugar and more come up in a generous finish.
Wine AdvocatePale to medium ruby-purple, the 2014 Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard has a pepper and fragrant earth nose with notes of moss, fungi and dried leaves intermingled with notions of kirsch, red roses and milk chocolate. Medium-bodied, the palate has a solid structure of grainy tannins and refreshing acidity supporting the taut red fruit flavors, finishing long and earthy.
Wine SpectatorFirm and chewy, with swarms of fine tannins around a core of minerally black cherry and licorice flavors, gliding into a lengthy finish. Needs cellaring to soften the edges. Best from 2018 through 2022.
