Bollinger Brut Rosé
To the eye: Bronze tones combined with the intense depth of a great red wine.
To the nose: The nobility of red berries: hints of red currant, cherry and wild strawberry. A spicy touch, not unlike Special Cuvée.
To the palate: A subtle combination of structure, length and vivacity, with a tannic finish due to the adjunction of red wine. Bubbles as fine as velvet. Flavors of wild berries.
Lacy in texture, with bright, well-knit acidity and a streak of chalky minerality underscoring the subtle flavors of strawberry, white peach, fresh ginger and crystallized honey. A hint of salted almond lingers on the finish. Drink now through 2020. 1,000 cases imported.
Seductively light in color, this is based on Pinot Noir. It has a fine balance and a touch of toast. The fresh red-fruit and citrus flavors harmonize into a complex whole. Like many Bollinger Champagnes, it's a delicious, full-bodied selection that's best suited for food.
The NV Brut Rose comes across as delicate and even a touch frail. Sweet berries, crushed flowers and spices waft from the glass in this feminine Champagne. The NV Brut Rose is best enjoyed as aperitif wine over the next few years.
