Aromatics of plum, blueberry, tobacco, and anise with hints of vanilla and cedar. The first flavors you pick up are of concentrated strawberry and Rhubarb pie leading to tart cherry and a host of black fruits. The tannins are particularly lush and sweet, almost melting. Good core of acidity maintains the fruit well into the finish. The fatness of this wine would make it a good accompaniment to prime rib slathered in crème of horseradish sauce, pasta Bolognese, and wood-fired Margherita pizza.
Wine EnthusiastEditors' Choice. An affordably priced wine brings meaty, peppery aromas, interesting fruit, spice and smoke flavors, and a mouthcoating texture. It is full bodied, complex and concentrated.
