Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé Brut NV
Aspect: A fine bead and an elegant colour. Cuvée Rosé Laurent-Perrier's colour evolves gently from a pretty raspberry tint to a hint of salmon. In this colour range, the brightest is a pink with subtle shades of melon and raspberry. It owes it quaint name Cuisse de nymphe émue (hot pink, in English), to a rose bush. The bead is so fine that it seems to dance in the glass and then on the palate.
Nose: Subtle, forthright, and very fresh on the nose. Cuvée Rosé Laurent-Perrier suggests a basketful of small berry fruits: strawberries, raspberries, blackcurrants, blackberries, redcurrants, and morello and black cherries. The overwhelming sensation is one of freshness.
Taste: Fruit dominates the palate. Cuvée Rosé Laurent-Perrier is a lively, well-rounded wine which combines structure and freshness. The forthright, slightly sharp attack is like breathing the heady aromas of a freshly-picked basket of berry fruits - a symphony of aromas with a gently-rounded, tender finish.
Connoisseurs' Guide to California WineElegant and fruity at the same time with a quick invitation from bright, pure cherryish notes and then filled out handsomely by whiffs of chalky soils and well-integrated, rich and uplifting yeast-driven scents, this wine manages to be both vigorous and layered at one and the same time. Its bubbles are insistent, finely carved and add to the early sensations of lightness and energy yet also carry the wine long into a balanced, refined finish. And its latter palate grip is exactly what one should expect from the genre. While service with light foods would be our first choice, this one has the beauty to stand alone.
Wine AdvocateThe latest iteration of Laurent-Perrier's NV Brut Cuvée Rosé is showing brilliantly, bursting from the glass with notes of smoky red berry fruit, apples, blood orange, pomegranate and warm biscuits. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, broad and vinous, with a delicate mousse, good depth at the core and ripe acids, concluding with a sapid, gently phenolic finish. This is a sophisticated, gastronomic rosé that would work well at table.
International Wine CellarBright orange-pink. Toasty strawberry and raspberry aromas are accented by iodine, floral oils and dusty minerals. Broad and supple in texture, with sappy red berry and blood orange flavors supported by a firm spine of minerality. Finishes spicy, silky and long, with a late rose pastille note adding an exotic twist
