Altos las Hormigas Appellation Gualtallary Malbec 2016This Malbec fully shows you its origins: Gualtallary. In this vintage particularly, the characteristics of this terroir favored the wine. Especially the soils of this appellation, with its marked slopes and its low humidity retention capacity, helped the excess of water -in a year that was more rainy than average in the area- to drain easily and benefit grape concentration. A solid violet red color reveals a dense, concentrated, compact wine. Notes of spices and minerality make a complex nose. On the palate, a supple entry, dark berries and spices. A very structured and quite wild Malbec, with firm fine-grain tannins, showing its calcareous foundations and columns. The mouth feel is full of thrilling freshness and balance, with a long and persistent finish.

Fattoria di Felsina Chianti Classico Riserva Berardenga 2015The style of the Fèlsina wines is deep and black fruity, with classic Tuscan spices married to fine expressions of soil, smoky tones and a deft touch of new oak. They will often have a bit of tannin in their youths, though always well-integrated into the body of the wine. As Sangiovese is much more adept at picking up the underlying soil nuances of the vineyard than either Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot, the various Fèlsina Chianti bottlings and their Fontalloro are amongst the most classic expressions of Tuscan wine to be found in the market today. Domaine de la Charbonniere Vacqueyras 2015Domaine de la Charbonnière spreads over 19.52 hectares of Châteauneuf du Pape; 5.79 ha of Vacqueyras and 1.51 ha of Côtes du Rhône. Today, all wines are vinified by Véronique Maret. The simple act of opening a bottle is far from trivial. Each one tells a story. Each vintage is unique because soils and climate conditions determine the wines' character. They do all they can to retain the freshness, to reflect the terroir, and to produce opulent, delicious wines. The vinification lasts depending on the personality of the wines and the vintage's characteristics from 2 to 5 weeks. They believe in non-interventionist winemaking to maintain the wine's balance. This entails gentle extraction and long, careful ageing. The red wines from different terroirs/lieu-dits are kept in separate containers: large oak foudres, large oak vats, enamelled vats, small barrels and demi-muids (for Syrah and Mourvèdre). They produce wonderfully well balanced wines that combine intensity and depth of fruit with finesse and elegance. Their wines have been distinguished repeatedly by the most prestigious journalists of the World.
