Chandon Brut Rosé
This has quite an exotic array of tropical fruit and ripe nectarines. Really nicely cut balance between sweet-fruit flavors and freshness here. A blend of 71.9% pinot noir, 24.3% chardonnay, 2.1% pinot meunier, 1.4% shiraz, 0.2% pinot gris and 0.1% riesling. Drink now.
(roughly 45% pinot noir, 35% pinot meunier and 20% chardonnay): Bright orange-pink. Spicy cherry, red berries, blood orange and five-spice powder on the perfumed nose. Fleshy but dry, boasting excellent energy to its bitter cherry, redcurrant and floral pastille flavors. Finishes smooth and fleshy, with very good breadth and cling. The turnaround over the last few years at this house, now under the guidance of chef de cave Benoit Gouez, has been remarkable.
