Bear Flag Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
|Region||California, Sonoma County|
Blended of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petite Sirah, 2% Petit Verdot and 2% Merlot, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon offers fragrant cassis, blackberries and chocolate box notions with hints of pencil shavings, cinnamon, violets, sautéed herbs and damp soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a rock-solid structure of grainy tannins and great freshness, finishing with a lively herbal lift. 12,500 cases produced.
Friendly cherry pie and plum notes take the lead here, with a savory edge sliding in on the moderately toasty finish. Drink now through 2022. 12,500 cases made.
This approachable wine is classic in black olive and black currant, with a balanced midpalate of weight and ripeness. Sweet oak supports a taste of pine and chocolate-covered espresso beans that linger awhile.
