Domaine de Chevalier Pessac Leognan 2016The unbroken period of beautiful weather was favourable to full maturity of the red wine grapes, and refined their tannins immensely. The harvest dates for each plot could be chosen with great precision, by tasting the berries, and there was no need for haste thanks to the fine weather. All varieties had fine large bunches in tip-top condition with fairly big berries. The skins of the red wine grapes were thick (due to the drought conditions from July to September). Yields were generous, but not excessively so. The potential quality is excellent for all varieties. The grapes were rich, with fruity tannin, great balance, and considerable freshness.

Campo Al Mare Bolgheri 2015Bolgheri's exceptional climate is moderated by sea breezes from the nearby Tirrhenian Sea, and the vineyards' clay and sand soils are ideal for Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The delicate Merlot was picked during the first half of September, while the robust Cabernets and Petit Verdot were harvested in the second half of the month. Grapes come from densely planted vineyards and low yields, which produce wines with concentration and complexity. Temperature-controlled fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, and maceration on the skins takes 20-22 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in steel. The wine is matured 12 months in one-year-old French barriques and at least 3 months in bottle before release.
Château-Carbonnieux Pessac-Léognan 2015Deep, intense, almost crimson color. The nose is expressive and fruity. The attack is fresh, then evolves towards a generous tannic structure, characteristic of great wines with ageing potential. The majority of cabernet sauvignon in the blend provides volume and a remarkably long finish. The merlot and the petit verdot add aromatic complexity and a certain delicacy to the wine.
