The old vine cuvée from this notable estate shows a touch more density and depth, but certainly in the same style as the classic cuvée with its pretty, pure, floral character. Black raspberries, sappy spring flowers, and peppery nuances all shine from the 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape Vieilles Vignes Elisabeth Chambellan, which is based on 88% Grenache, 10% Syrah, and 2% Mourvèdre and aged 11 months in a mix of foudre, stainless steel tanks, and concrete. It's medium-bodied, has a layered, seamless mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and outstanding length.
