Yellow color with light gold tint, clear. Powerful nose, racy, with a smell of nuts, toast and a suggestion of vanilla. An expressive mouth with a fat and ample taste. This is a mineral wine with an elegant oaky taste and an excellent length taste.

The 2019 Saint-Romain Rouge from Alain Gras was so delicious that it momentarily made the notion of superior Premier or Grand Crus totally redundant! The key is its simplicity. It is disarmingly pretty on the nose with exquisite delineation - vivid red cherries and strawberry. The palate brims with energy, the acidity perfectly judged with a transparent red fruit finish that is so moreish that you will finish a bottle for sooner than intended. Buy-drink-enjoy-repeat.

Sleek, with a vein of mineral underlying lemon, apple and light spice flavors. Focused and harmonious, with the vibrant structure driving its lingering finish. Drink now through 2025.

Notes of clear honey, pear, orange oil, toasted nuts and beeswax introduce Gras's 2019 Saint-Romain Blanc, a medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural wine with tangy acids and a saline finish. It's a blend of wine vinified in new oak with wine vinified in tank, and it derives from a wide variety of parcels located all around the appellation. 2020 - 2030.
