Aroma: Black cherry pie filling, cola, and vanilla custard. Mouth Feel: A smooth entry builds into a mouthful of well-structured tannins and dark fruit before moving into more red fruit and bright acidity in the mid-palate. The wine finishes rich with blackberries and oak spice. Food Pairing: This is Cabernet, so of course it will be great with steak. With its big fruit character and crisp acidity, be sure to consider more subtle cuts such astenderloin (filet mignon). As an alternative, it will be equally at home alongside a big, juicy pork chop.
James Suckling

This shows real interest on the nose with fresh blackcurrants, ivy, tea leaf, vanilla, cloves and peppermint. Freshness comes through aplenty on the palate, which is full-bodied with structured if chewy tannins, some pretty acidity and a driven finish. Blend of 85% cabernet sauvignon, 15% merlot. Drink in 2020.

Blended with 15% Merlot, this has a classic character of Old World savoriness, opening in a burst of cassis before becoming more well defined in cedar, clove and crayon wax. The firm tannins never distract, instead supporting a core of full-bodied roundness and plush texture.
