The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino is dark yet intensely floral. A cascade of violets and lavender complements blackberries and spice. It is silken and pliant, with cooling acidity and polished red and blue fruits, all guided by fresh acidity. A coating of edgy tannins adds cheek-puckering tension as this finishes long and structured yet still spry, leaving a tart blackberry twang to linger.
