The 2023 Eneo, composed of 65% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Malvasia Nera, marks a clear step up in depth and complexity. It remains weightless in feel despite its added structure, with notes of fresh black cherry, wildflowers, and a subtle mineral undertone. Medium to full-bodied, it offers refined tannins, refreshing acidity, and a balanced, elegant profile. It’s already appealing but has the structure to evolve gracefully over the next 10-15 years.

The Montepeloso 2023 Eneo is a blend of 65% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Malvasia Nera, fermented in stainless steel and matured in second-fill barrels. Produced in a run of 27,000 bottles, the wine is redolent of bright cherry, blackberry, spice and wild bramble, with a subtle green note that recalls grilled rosemary. The fruit comes from nine hectares of vineyards ranging from 50 to 200 meters in elevation, a spread that contributes both freshness and accessibility.
