Ruby tinged with purple highlights. Nose has lots of finesse with hints of warm spices, black fruits (cassis, blackberry, cherry) along with roasted notes and red peppercorns. Palate is elegant with forest fruits dominating the front palate. A rich mouthfeel is underlined by vanilla tones and supple tannins. Exceptional length promises great ageing potential. Enjoy with roasted meat, foie gras, chicken stew with black olives, a platter of strong cheeses or with a chocolate mousse.

A warm, generous and exuberant red, loaded with juicy cherry and licorice notes that glide along a silky palate, with a refined framework of tannins. Features finely crushed mineral elements that bring racy energy to the heady profile, while dusty earth and toasted aniseed accents linger on the finish. Big in scale, but stays bright and focused. Well done. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre. Drink now through 2035. 450 cases made, 200 cases imported.

The 2022 Chateauneuf-du-Pape Secret de Barville comes in with a relatively small production of 2,000 bottles. Introduced by ripe red fruits, gravel, licorice and dried herbs, the 2022 is a full-bodied red with grippy tannins that provide a firm structure. Give this beauty another three years in bottle to cohere.
