Frederic Esmonin Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur 2017Esmonin is becoming one of the most consistent, high quality producers in Gevrey. They are now using a new bladder-press and have excellent control over the amount of pressure exerted on the grapes, which are picked only when they have reached ideal ripeness. After a short cold maceration gives the wines an extra dimension of fruit, they are aged in carefully selected French oak barrels of Allier and Nevers forest wood made by Radoux and Berthomieu, two of the very best coopers. Wines are aged in barrels of varying age and toast and then blended in order to achieve optimum balance and complexity.

Ca' del Baio Barbaresco Autinbej 2015The color is a deep garnet red with reflections of old pink. The nose is an intense, fruity aroma reminiscent of raspberries, jam, and violets that give an ethereal feeling accompanied by sweet spicy notes and hints of cocoa. In the mouth, Autinbej is warm, long, persistent and slightly tannic with an aftertaste of fruity notes. Pairing: In addition to the traditional Barbaresco pairing with red meat, Autinbej's structure and the fruity intensity makes it an ideal pairing with duck or pork, grilled or fried, and also with sweet and sour or spicy sauces. Storing: Versatile and appealing, Autinbej expresses its great personality as early as 3 years after the harvest and can age beautifully for 10-15 years. We recommend storing the bottles in the dark at a constant temperature.
Domaine Belle Crozes Hermitage Les Pierrelles 2015Colour: Beautiful deep red in colour, with flashes of purple. Nose: As always, the nose is full and voluble. It is an invitation to immediate pleasure. Palate: The palate does not disappoint, it is soft and voluptuous. The tannins are silky. The finish is long, and well balanced, with no heaviness. Food Pairing: This Les Pierrelles cuvée is a promise of pleasure. It goes well with all red meat dishes, casseroles and roasts, and also with poultry and summer aperitifs.

Dutton Goldfield Dutton Ranch Pinot Noir 20142014 was our third drought year in Russian River Valley, and the vines gave us beautifully ripe grapes once again. Budbreak was early, and the spring was dry and warm, with some late rain giving the vines all the water they needed. The ripening season was classic Russian River, with warm days and cool nights-and with no major heat spells, the fruit ripening was perfect to give us the lush tannins, bright berry fruit and bright acidity we love in our neighborhood. The wine shows rich, dense black cherry and blackberry fruit and nuances of strawberry, raspberry, and nutmeg in the nose. In the mouth, the first impression is fresh berry fruit, then the soft, broad tannins carry notes of marionberries, nutmeg and sandalwood through a lingering finish. Thanks partially to the moderate alcohol and bright acidity, the finish lingers with fresh cherry fruit and creamy berry compote. This is a wine that rewards a bit of breathing in the glass, and will certainly do the same with a few years in the cellar. As always, this wine has a broad range of food pairings, whether alone with some well chosen cheeses, richer fish preparations or a good old steak on the barbeque.
Hearst Ranch Bunkhouse Cabernet Sauvigon 2016Appearance: A vibrant and dense ruby color in the glass. Aroma: The nose shows pure Cabernet Sauvignon varietal notes of iron shavings and graphite with blackcurrant. There is a touch of medium toasted oak present when first opened that graciously recedes to the background after a bit of air. Flavor: The 2016 exhibits a beautiful level of ripeness, a judicious balance of hangtime and restraint. The wine is plush and finely textured on the palate. The limestone laden soil yields wonderfully chalky tannins that carry the wine from the mid-palate, graciously through the lingering finish. There is sufficient acidity to provide balance throughout. Pairings: It has the confidence to accompany traditional red wine food pairings yet the social graces to be enjoyed by itself.
Clos Bellane Chateauneuf du Pape Urgonien 2016Acquired in 2010 by Stéphane VEDEAU, Clos Bellane is situated on the tray of Vinsobres, in the southeast of Valréas, in the heart of the Enclave of the Popes in Vaucluse, but inside the Drôme. More in the North! It is the guarantee of an annual temperature convenient to the slow macerations of bays, security of elegance and delicate notes. Higher! With his 400 meters in heights for more freshness the summer, in grounds and for the plant. Quite in the East! To make sure of a softer sun in the east than at sunset and so slow down the excessive evaporation which concentrates in alcohol. Finally, a soil rich in active limestone stops succeeding these rare balances by its structural freshness and its complex minerality.
Antidoto Ribera del Duero 2016Antídoto is located in the province of Soria, in perhaps the coolest microclimate of the Ribera del Duero. The resulting wines are considerably fresher and more elegant than is typical from the appellation. The 2016 vintage has given way to an Antídoto with a fair alcohol level (13º), a sweet acidity and polished finished tannins.
Pali Wine Company Huntington Pinot Noir 2015Candied nose of sweet cherries, dark chocolate, cinnamon, ripe strawberries, maple syrup, boysenberries, toasted oak, dried thyme. Palate offers up bright red fruits, cherries and raspberries up front with earthy tones of wild mushrooms and black truffles. The mid palate swells with rich acid and flavors of baking spices (clove, mace, cardamom). Long, elegant finish with black licorice, more red fruit and hints of black tea. Ruby Red, Garnet in color, bright clarity - medium bodied.
Pol Roger BRUT RESERVE N/VPol Roger Brut Réserve diplays a beautiful golden straw coloured hue, as well as abundant and fine bubbles. With a powerful and attractive nose, it first delivers aromas of fruit (pear, mango ...) and then releases light flavours of honeysuckle and white jasmine, lingering on vanilla and brioche notes. Behind a frank and dynamic attack, the wine encompasses a nice harmony and a pleasant freshness, whilst preserving some structure. On the palate, flavours of cooked fruit (quince jelly, apricot jam) happily mingle with fragrances of beeswax and acacia honey. The long-lasting aromas, composed of both fruity (candied orange peel, tangerine...) and spicy notes (cardamom, anis) is outstanding. The structure and vinosity, elegance and freshness, captured in this Brut Réserve offer an optimum balance between power and finesse, making it a remarkable wine to be served as an apéritif, or to accompany a whole meal.
Salcheto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 20152015 is undoubtedly one of the most impressive vintage of its decade. It was marked by a strong thermal stress in August, which has particularly influenced acidity levels. The result is a wine “eat and drink all in one”, fleshy and soft, to be enjoyed perhaps in a shorter time horizon.

Zorzal Gran Terroir Pinot Noir 2016Notes of strawberry, cherry, mushroom, baking spices, and clove are lifted from the glass. This leads into powdered white sugar, vanilla, blackberry, and cinnamon notes on the palate with smooth tannins and medium acidity. A long finish persists with caramel red apple, tobacco, and cola qualities.
