Tenuta Sette Ponti Crognolo 2020

Sweet berries, flowers and cedar on the nose. Some leather, too. It’s medium-to full-bodied with lightly chewy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Shows tension and brightness. Excellent structure. Drinkable now, but better in 2023.

This is about purity of fruit and texture, featuring a core of black cherry and blackberry flavors, shaded by soy, earth and eucalyptus. Gathers density as this builds to a solid, lingering finish. Sangiovese and Merlot. Best from 2024 through 2036.

The 2020 Crognolo is laced with crushed red berry fruit, mint, spice, licorice, dried flowers and sweet pipe tobacco. This mid-weight Tuscan red is a fine choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. pretty floral and spice notes appear on the finish.
