Craggy Range Te Muna Road Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2018
|Region||New Zealand, Wellington, Martinborough|
DecanterA harmonious and balanced style with a high level of fruit concentration on the silken mid-palate. A more restrained style than you might anticipate from New Zealand, but this is the windy Wairarapa providing its own interpretation, usually with worryingly low yields to boot. The warmest Kiwi summer on record has dished up ripe apples, grass and pineapple. There’s a fine line of acidity with long length.
James SucklingThis has a refined and sleek style to it with very impressive, seamless palate-weight and long, lime and green-mango flavors. The acidity is a treat. Passion-fruit finish. Drink now. Screw cap.
Wine EnthusiastThis wine bursts with aromas of lime, pineapple, peach and apple, followed by the variety's characteristic green bell pepper and nettle aromas. The palate is viscous but balanced by focused acidity. Less fruity than the nose, the herbal, vegetal nuances get the chance to shine here. It is a classy, even elegant Sauvignon from the bottom of New Zealand's North Island.
