This Cabernet Franc is ruby red in color with soft violet tones. The nose has intense aromas and concentrated notes of cassis, ripe currants, and sweet spices including black pepper and cloves. His tenure provides integrated oak notes of cedar and vanilla. Fresh impact and excellent structure on the palate, reminiscent of ripe red fruits with hints of eucalyptus and tagged black pepper. This wine has an excellent balance and elegance with a well-structured, persistent finish. Food Pairing: Pair this Cabernet Franc with grilled game meats.

James SucklingThis is a phenomenal cabernet franc with blackcurrant and salt character. Full-bodied, layered and very sexy with tight, expressive fruit and a splendid finish. Genius. Four hectares. Drink or hold.

Wine AdvocateThe 2014 El Enemigo Cabernet Franc is pure Cabernet Franc from Gualtallary fermented with 50% whole clusters. It felt riper than the 2013, and there are less herbal aromas and more notes from the plum-like spectrum. What I like here is the tastiness in the palate and the fine tannins, the chalky sensation that provides an almost salty finish. The palate is a lot fresher than the nose points at and the acidity is quite high. It slowly develops a note of curry, getting spicier and spicier in the glass. 35,000 bottles produced.

Wine EnthusiastEarthy, woodsy, spicy aromas of cherry and cassis set up a tannic palate with more than enough grip. Baked oaky berry flavors come with mint and spice notes, while this feels scratchy on a fiery finish. Drink through 2020.

VinousFull, dark red. Aromas of black cherry, licorice, menthol and spicy oak. Densely packed and very fine-grained; less sweet and delineated than the Malbec, but more chocolatey, plush and generous. Nicely fat wine--quite full for its moderate octane level--with substantial early appeal and no tough tannins to stand in the way of enjoying it now.

Wine SpectatorA taut red, with some muscle behind the dark plum, raspberry and hot stone flavors. Sanguine notes show midpalate, leading to a finish that offers chocolate and spice hints. Drink now through 2019. 1,000 cases imported.
