Ballindalloch, on the banks of the legendary salmon river, is for many the home of the definitive Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Hugely complex, rich with layers of flavour and a whiff of smoke in the finish. Gold color. A combination of sweet floral fragrances, riverside herbs and flowers with some honey and vanilla. Body is firm, rounded, light to medium. A strong malty taste with hints of sweet wood smoke and sandalwood. A long, malt-driven finish with light smoke and hints of sweetness finish.
Serve this Cragganmore 12 Year Old on the rocks in a tumbler or tulip glass to concentrate its flavour, and add a splash of water to release more of its complexity.
The succulent aroma develops with aeration in the sweet forms of barley, cream, light caramel, and a trace of tropical fruit. Palate entry is round, borderline plump, breakfast-cereal sweet, and honeyed; at midpalate, there's a slightly oily peat smoke. Sweetly concludes with the focus on the malt.
