The 2018 J. Lohr Estates Falcon's Perch showcases the best of cool climate Monterey County Pinot Noir. Wild strawberry and sage on the nose are followed by bright rhubarb, camphor and dried cherry on the finish. A pinch of red pepper really sets off this Pinot Noir. Delicious when paired with Spanish chorizo or paella. Also matches quite well with mushroom dishes or Pacific salmon.
The spiced cherry and raspberry flavors show plenty of juicy verve. Hints of spiced melon emerge on the snappy finish. Drink now. 45,700 cases made.
Ripe aromas of boysenberry and dark cherry are lifted by a touch of rose petals on the somewhat fat nose of this fairly priced bottling. The palate combines cranberry juice and ripe pomegranate with hibiscus, proving a bit thin and yet a tad sweet at the same time.
