This is an exceptional vintage of Les Grands Maréchaux. Strict vineyard management under the advice of consultant winemaker Stéphane Derenoncourt helps bring out this Merlot-based wine’s rich mulberry, plum, cedar, and incense character. Rounded, dark fruit and fig hints with a touch of chocolate Superb and affordable.
Chateau Les Grands Marechaux is best paired with all types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised and grilled dishes. Chateau Les Grands Marechaux is also good when matched with Asian dishes, rich fish courses like tuna, mushrooms and pasta.

A perfumed wine with black-fruit flavors, this is already well balanced. Dark flavors are spiced and packed with a fresher aftertaste.

Aromas of blackberries, blackcurrants, praline and cloves. Medium-to full-bodied with fine tannins. Fleshy and balanced with a textured, spicy finish.

Medium garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Les Grands Marechaux bursts out of the glass with notions of blueberry compote, blackberry preserves and crushed black plums plus suggestions of violets, tobacco and tilled soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has an impressive texture of very fine-grained tannins and bold freshness nicely framing the intense black fruit flavors, finishing on a perfumed note. Drink 2019 - 2031.

The 2016 Les Grands Marechaux is a very pretty, lifted wine with lovely aromatic presence and expressive, bright red-toned fruit. Raspberry, blood orange, chalk and floral notes are all beautifully delineated. This is an especially gracious, perfumed Blaye.

Incorporating 15% Malbec, with the balance Merlot, the 2016 Château Les Grands Maréchaux is a pretty, vibrant wine that offers lots of black cherries, with hints of flowers, and minerality, medium body, good acidity, and a balanced, delicious style. It's going to keep for 7-8 years, probably longer.
