Silky and refined in feel, with gently mulled cherry and plum notes that glide along, picking up light flashes of anise and black tea along the way. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan. Drink now through 2023.

Brought up all in tank, the medium-bodied 2017 Cairanne Création Grosset (50% Grenache, 20% each of Syrah and Carignan, and the rest Mourvèdre) offers plenty of forward, fleshy dark fruits, notes of ground pepper, earth, and bouquet garni, medium body, and loads of charm. Drink it over the coming 4-5 years.

I tasted the 2017 Cairanne Creation Grosset twice (once blind). On the first occasion, I found it a pleasant, modest little Cairanne, with cherry and leather notes, a bit of heft on the palate and a soft, easygoing finish. On the second, it was rich, super ripe and chocolaty, but similar in overall quality and projected longevity. I'm human, what can I say?
