E. Guigal Gigondas Red 2019
Beautiful purple robe. Intense nose dominated by stone fruits, liquorice and scents of undergrowth. The palate is generous, powerful and full-bodied with a long and elegant finish. All together a frank attack, racy with beautiful tannins present but melted.
Looking at the wines from the Southern Rhône, the 2019 Gigondas is medium to full-bodied and nicely textured, with lots of ripe red and black fruits as well as notes of sandalwood and Provençal herbs.
Marked by scents of Provence herbs, cherries and blueberries, the 2019 Gigondas is another successful example of this Southern Rhône appellation. Full-bodied and concentrated, it's rich and velvety in feel, with a long finish.
Understated style, with light incense and worn cedar notes running along the edges of the slightly dried currant, raspberry and red cherry fruit flavors. The cedary edge lingers longest in the end. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Best from 2023 through 2030. 2,000 cases imported.
