Honeyed apricot, lemon zest and gentle florals lead. There's a musky, mushroomy underbelly. The palate is dry and opulent. The richness is lifted with lovely citrus acidity and bright florals; that mushroom earthiness flickers on the finish.

The 2021 Dry Riesling comes in with seven grams of residual sugar and 11.9% alcohol (actual). This comes in showing reasonable depth, some fruitiness and good balance. It is crisp but easy to drink today. That said, there is also a nuance on the finish that tends a bit toward grapefruit cut with some petrichor aromatics up front and apples on the finish. It seems a little less than classic in the final analysis. Overall, it works, mostly, because of its bright and lively demeanor, and it also comes in at a good price point. For the moment, though, this is probably my least favorite Dry Riesling since the 2018 (another tough year). It should hold decently, but it can be drunk very young too. That might in fact be a good idea, since I'm by no means sure this will improve. It will be interesting to see how the fruit profile develops as it ages. Don't treat it as a vin de garde, no matter how long it theoretically lasts. It will probably do best when young. There were 5,600 cases produced.
