Born for everyday enjoyment, our Tobiano Pinot Noir is less serious than its big brother Alazan. Tobiano is a blend of different parcels within the greater Kingston vineyard, and has been featured by the glass at respected restaurants such as Jean Georges in New York and the Four Seasons in London. The 2016 has an almost Beaujolais-like, gulpable quality that would make it completely at home with bistro fare or a picnic. It tastes bright, light red. It smells fresh, a mix of herbs, flowers, and berries that are not too sweet. Fresh, tart and lively on entry.

Wine Advocate2016 was a challenging vintage, cold and rainy, and the 2016 Pinot Noir Tobiano was harvested even earlier than the Sauvignon Blanc. They are moving to organic farming in the vineyards and larger barrels to avoid the imparting of the oak in the wine. It fermented with natural yeasts and some full clusters and matured in French oak barrels for eight months. It has a bright and fruit-driven nose, a lighter style of Pinot Noir with only 12.5% alcohol and less time in oak, too. The palate shows that lightness, which makes it very drinkable. 10,360 bottles produced.
